Maintenance Planner and Scheduler
- Pay Rate: $66.00 to 82.00/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 year
- Location: Christina Lake, Alberta
- Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
- Rotation (8 days in – 6 days out, 12 hours a day)
- Company Charter Flights provided – Departing from Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta
- Contractors are expected to travel to Calgary or Edmonton for chartered flights to camp sites.
Raise is currently hiring a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Maintenance Planner and Scheduler will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities by developing detailed work plans that align maintenance, operations, and contractor resources. Ensures work is executed efficiently, safely, and in a cost-effective manner through structured planning and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed work order job plans to support maintenance execution
- Receive and review work notifications, prioritize tasks, and select work based on urgency and schedule requirements
- Develop complete work packages including materials, labour, tools, external services, and cost estimates
- Coordinate required trades, materials, and equipment to support effective job execution
- Support adherence to the work order lifecycle process
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to align planning activities
- Support planning for shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage events
- Track and support performance against KPIs such as backlog, readiness, capacity utilization, and maintenance costs
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, workflows, and standard practices
- Apply knowledge of safe work practices and planning requirements in all activities
Accountabilities
- Accountable for accuracy and completeness of maintenance plans and work packages
- Accountable for aligning planning activities with operational priorities and schedules
- Responsible for ensuring planned work supports safe execution and efficient resource utilization
- Required to follow all site processes, safety procedures, and standards
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in an industrial environment at the Journeyman level
- Extensive experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Assets:
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes
- Experience with turnaround and asset management processes
- Experience using SAP
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under changing conditions
- Effective coordination and communication across multiple functional groups
- Strong understanding of maintenance workflows and lifecycle processes
- Analytical approach to resource planning and cost optimization
- Attention to detail in developing work packages and documentation
- Safety & Compliance
- Required to follow all site safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Applies critical safe work practices in all planning activities
- Ensures all work plans incorporate appropriate safety controls and hazard mitigation measures
- Supports a culture of safety by aligning planning activities with safe execution standards
- Complies with operational standards and procedures at all assigned locations

- Journeyman Trade Certification
