Accessibility Manager
- Location: Toronto, ON—Hybrid (Currently 2 days per week in office)
- Pay Rate: $39.21/hr – $46.28/hr
- Contract Length: 6 Months with a possibility of extension

Responsibilities:
Accessibility Leadership:
- Champion accessibility as a core pillar of marketing and brand excellence, aligning with ACA, AODA, and WCAG standards.
- Translate regulatory and technical requirements into practical guidelines, job aids, and QA processes for internal and external teams.
- Conduct audits of marketing content to ensure accessibility compliance (e.g., colour contrast, alt text, plain language, etc.)
- Embed accessibility considerations to ensure accessible-by-design deliverables where relevant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and maintain Zero Height as a centralized repository for brand and accessibility guidelines, ensuring the platform supports inclusive design principles.
Standards & Governance
- Define and evolve accessibility standards, brand-aligned best practices, and QA processes across marketing deliverables (e.g., social media platforms, videos, PDFs, email, and digital assets)
- Maintain and enhance brand guidelines, templates, tone of voice frameworks, and visual identity systems, ensuring inclusive communication.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WCAG success criteria and changes to ACA/AODA legislation, proactively adapting marketing standards.
- Create clear documentation, checklists, and review processes to streamline accessibility compliance and promote consistent adoption.
Training & Capacity Building
- Design and deliver training programs/educational sessions to internal teams and agency patterns on accessibility principles and inclusive design.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and cultivate a culture of design accessibility.
Collaboration & Oversight
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including UX, digital, legal, brand, CX, and regulatory teams.
- Collaborate with external agency partners and vendors to ensure accessibility requirements are understood, contractually obligated, and consistently met.
Must Have Requirement:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing, creative services, or digital content
- 5+ of technical writing experience
- 3+ years in accessibility and inclusive design.
- 3+ Deep understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1/2.2, and their application to marketing and digital communications, including websites, PDFs, videos, emails, and social media with proven experience
- Strong knowledge of relevant accessibility legislation: ACA, AODA, and applicable provincial/federal standards.
- Proven ability to lead accessibility integration within creative and content workflows and to assess marketing output for compliance.
- Experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, contrast analyzers, HTML/CSS validators).
- Effective communicator and writer, skilled in simplifying complex regulations for non-technical audiences
- Experience performing accessibility audits and developing remediation recommendations for web, email, social media, video, and PDF.
- Understanding of creative and brand systems and how to align accessibility with visual and verbal identity standards.
Nice to Have:
- Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, Trusted Tester) is considered a strong asset.
