Senior Financial Analyst (TIS Asset & Performance Management)

Overview
- This is a financial analysis role that resides within the Gas Distribution (GDS) Technology & Information Services (TIS) department.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial support, analysis and interpretation of financial and operational performance on a timely basis to various stakeholders within the GDS TIS department.
- Working collaboratively with key GDS TIS stakeholders to collect labor and non-labor details for the development of department forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure accuracy of monthly financial reporting data within TIS financial reporting systems.
- Coordinate the monthly accrual processes for the GDS TIS department to drive accuracy for financial reporting processes.
- Work with team to create monthly reporting for TIS Leadership on financial information relating to Budgets, Forecasts, and Actuals with recommended mitigation strategies to attain financial targets.
- Provide ad hoc/off-cycle data, reporting, and analysis as requested by key GDS TIS stakeholders. Ensuring accurate, relevant information is provided for management decision making.
- Provide and recommend, where necessary, a streamlined and common approach to analytics carried out for the GDS TIS group
- Support key SOX Control, Audit and Regulatory requirements for the GDS TIS function.
Must-Have Qualifications
- University Business degree required.
- 2+ years of post-qualification experience with business performance analytics related roles.
- Highly analytical with financial modeling skills and the ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal groups and budget owners in a meaningful way.
- Extensive experience in analyzing and evaluating large amounts of data.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Finance related designation (CMA, CA, CPA, CGA, or MBA).
- A strong knowledge of the current Information Technology frameworks and structures.
- Proven team player, with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
- Strong demonstrated competencies in interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, persuasion and influencing skills.
- Good business acumen and understanding of regulatory environment and financial management strategies and reporting requirements.
- Experience with prioritizing work and implementing processes and ongoing process improvements to streamline and optimize work.
