Job Overview
Our client is seeking an Execution and Integration Coordinator III to lead the safe integration and execution of capital and operational projects across the Athabasca Region. This role is responsible for bringing together cross-functional stakeholders, fostering collaboration, and guiding projects through all phases of the project lifecycle to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight for a diverse portfolio of projects, including electrical and mechanical equipment repair and replacement, regulatory inspection and maintenance programs, earthworks, civil infrastructure repairs, and other regionally prioritized initiatives. This position works closely with Business Development, Infrastructure Planning, Development Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to ensure the successful transition, integration, and operational readiness of completed projects. The role requires a strong focus on project execution, operational integration, stakeholder engagement, safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement to support reliable and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects, including the development of project budgets, schedules, resource plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, management of change activities, and regulatory and permitting requirements.
- Provide leadership and oversight throughout the project lifecycle by coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors and resources, procuring materials and services, and ensuring projects are delivered safely and effectively.
- Ensure project objectives related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance are achieved.
- Manage project closeout activities, including documentation, financial reconciliation, regulatory compliance, lessons learned integration, and seamless turnover to operations and key stakeholders.
- Ensure constructed, repaired, and commissioned assets meet operational, safety, reliability, and business requirements while adhering to client standards and industry best practices.
- Serve as the primary Operations representative throughout the capital project lifecycle, providing guidance on project scope, engineering design, equipment selection, constructability, operability, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Partner with engineering, project development, maintenance, and operations teams to support governance and stage-gate processes, including risk assessments, design reviews, constructability reviews, process safety reviews, and management of change activities.
- Champion operational readiness by ensuring operational acceptance criteria, training requirements, commissioning activities, and safety reviews are completed prior to asset turnover.
- Foster alignment between project sponsors, stakeholders, and regional operations teams to support the safe and efficient integration of capital investments into ongoing operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution, operational performance, stakeholder collaboration, and long-term asset reliability.
- Provide operational support and guidance to engineering, construction, and project teams during planning, execution, commissioning, and closeout activities.
- Support the development and implementation of contractor specifications, qualification requirements, and safety expectations.
- Monitor compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental, health, and safety standards throughout all phases of project execution.
- Contribute to operating and capital budget development through project cost estimates, forecasting support, resource planning, and operational input.
- Identify, assess, and communicate project risks, operational impacts, and mitigation strategies to support informed decision-making.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure work is planned, executed, and completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in project management, engineering, oil and gas construction, or a related field.
- Post-secondary education in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of project execution methodologies, stakeholder management, contractor coordination, and operational integration.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, including planning, execution, commissioning, operational readiness, and closeout activities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage complex initiatives.
- Knowledge of regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements related to industrial or energy sector projects.
- Experience supporting risk management, management of change processes, and project governance activities.
- Knowledge of pipeline operations, maintenance practices, construction standards, and industry specifications is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
