Job Overview
SCM Data, Innovation & Analytics is seeking a Data Modeler with strong Databricks expertise to design, build, and operationalize scalable Supply Chain data products that deliver measurable business value. This role combines advanced analytics, data engineering, and product delivery capabilities to transform complex Supply Chain Management (SCM) data into trusted, governed, and actionable insights. The successful candidate will leverage modern data platforms, machine learning techniques, and enterprise technologies to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives across the client’s Supply Chain organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop analytics solutions that address Supply Chain business challenges, leveraging knowledge of oil and gas operations, procurement, supplier performance, spend analytics, and enterprise value drivers.
- Design, build, test, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks using Python, PySpark, SQL, notebooks, jobs, and orchestration frameworks to support reliable Silver and Gold data products.
- Transform, integrate, and model data from enterprise systems and platforms, including Oracle Cloud, SAP, Azure Data Warehouse (ADW), Microsoft Dataflow, Dataverse, and other approved data sources.
- Develop, evaluate, and deploy machine learning, statistical, and AI-assisted solutions, including classification models, forecasting, anomaly detection, text analytics, and natural language processing for structured and unstructured SCM data.
- Utilize Databricks platform capabilities, including notebooks, workflows, jobs, Unity Catalog, SQL Warehouses, Genie Code, and Lakeflow/Lakeflow Designer, to accelerate development while maintaining enterprise governance and standards.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including idea assessments, business requirements, solution designs, technical documentation, and status reporting.
- Communicate technical concepts, solution designs, requirements, and product capabilities to business stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data products that support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are incorporated into all data solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance analytics capabilities, automate processes, and improve decision-making through data-driven insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Supply Chain Management), Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, analytics, data engineering, data science, or product development.
- Advanced proficiency in data science methodologies, including statistical analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning, sentiment analysis, and data visualization.
- Strong experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources, including purchase order line descriptions, supplier information, customer feedback, and operational datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and PySpark, with hands-on experience developing large-scale data solutions within Databricks environments.
- Experience with prompt engineering and AI-assisted development practices.
- Hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Copilot Studio, Dataflow, Dataverse, Power Automate, and Model-Driven Apps.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and Oracle Cloud applications, particularly within Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, Projects, and Finance functions.
- Proficiency in SQL for data transformation, querying, and optimization is considered an asset.
- Experience with Alteryx for data preparation, workflow automation, and analytics is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry operations, Supply Chain processes, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Source-to-Pay (S2P), and related business value drivers.
- Experience working with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and project documentation tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
