Job Overview:
- The SCM Specialist, Power Projects & Operations, is responsible for leading Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities associated with transitioning power projects into operations. The role supports both Project and Power Operations teams by optimizing total cost of ownership, mitigating supply chain and commercial risks, and ensuring long-term operational reliability.
- As a critical link between the Projects and Operations functions, this position plays a key role in managing warranty obligations during project handover and throughout the asset lifecycle. The Specialist is responsible for coordinating, administering, and resolving warranty claims with OEMs, EPC contractors, and suppliers to protect commercial entitlements, maximize asset performance, and support operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead SCM activities related to project-to-operations transition, ensuring all warranty terms, obligations, and supporting documentation are effectively transferred and maintained.
- Act as the primary SCM interface for warranty matters between Projects, Operations, OEMs, EPC contractors, and secondary suppliers.
- Coordinate and manage OEM and EPC warranty claims, ensuring timely submission, tracking, and resolution.
- Track, maintain documentation, and provide regular reporting for all warranty claims and related activities.
- Manage the full lifecycle of warranty claims through to successful closure.
- Interpret and administer contracts to ensure warranty provisions and supplier obligations are properly enforced.
- Negotiate warranty-related disputes and settlements to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
- Manage supplier performance and relationships related to warranty obligations and service delivery.
- Support asset reliability initiatives by providing subject matter expertise (SME) on warranty management and related supply chain matters.
- Assist procurement activities and coordinate with Legal, Project, Operations, and other internal stakeholders supporting project transition.
- Support the procurement of operational spares, from initial identification and sourcing through delivery, ensuring critical parts are available to support operational turnover and ongoing asset reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of Supply Chain Management experience, preferably in Vendor Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management, or Warranty Management.
- Demonstrated experience in the review, negotiation, administration, and execution of supply and service contracts.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving commercial issues within complex operational environments.
- Strong understanding of warranty administration, contract interpretation, and claims management processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive issues through to resolution.
- Renewable energy industry experience is preferred, with 5+ years of experience in renewable power projects and/or operations considered an asset.
