General Laborer

  • Pond Inlet, Nunavut
  • $26-32 per hour based on experience
  • 10-hr shifts, 6 days a week – Guaranteed OT
  • Camp Accommodations and Flights and Shuttle Provided from Calgary, Edmonton, or Yellowknife – Local candidates given priority
  • 1 Month Contract Starting Sept 15

Raise Workforce has partnered with the leading provider of workforce camp and hospitality services, operations and maintenance services. They are seeking multiple General Laborers to support the setup and preparation of camp. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working outdoors, staying active throughout the day, and jumping in wherever support is needed. You’ll work alongside the onsite team to help get the camp operational, organized, clean, and ready for use. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to travel, and seeing the North while gaining work experience.

What you will be doing…

  • Working independently or with the broader team
  • Safely operating hand tools and power drills
  • Light landscaping duties
  • Moving supplies around the site
  • Performing other duties as assigned that could consistent of building maintenance related tasks, construction-type tasks and/or site clean-up. 
  • Collection and disposal of refuse and debris
  • Perform manual labor activities such as setup and teardown of work areas for the trades, gathering and moving materials needed for trades day to day activities 
  • Assist with the general setup and preparation of camp facilities
  • Load, unload, move, and organize materials, supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Assist tradespeople and site personnel with general tasks as required
  • Help assemble, position, and set up camp furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Keep work areas, storage areas, and common spaces clean and organized
  • Remove packaging, debris, waste, and other materials from work areas
  • Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep around the camp
  • Help with outdoor cleanup, grounds maintenance, and general site preparation
  • Carry, stack, sort, and distribute materials throughout the worksite
  • Support the team with moving and preparing equipment for installation or use
  • Help with basic hand-tool tasks where required
  • Identify and report any hazards, damaged equipment, or site concerns
  • Pitch in with whatever task is needed to keep the project moving
  • Follow direction from supervisors, tradespeople, and the onsite project team
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Performing other duties as required.

  • Reliable, hardworking, and willing to take on a variety of tasks
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in changing weather conditions
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working away from home in a remote camp environment
  • Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow site procedures
  • No specific trade certification required
