Daily Responsibilities:

  • Describe a typical ‘day in the life’
  • Manage, define, deliver and establish data assets as a key enabler for our business and clients
  • Span business and product silos to establish holistic, firm wide views backed by data assets
  • Empower our employees by organising and democratising data – making it accessible and useful through our new data repository
  • Work with clients (partner, coverage, mid market) to better understand their need and use for data services
  • Drive the right conversations between our client expectations and delivery teams to drive digital solutions
  • Partner with internal stakeholders such as Data Engineering, Client Success, and Client Solutions to help deliver value to our clients through our RBC One delivery channels
  • Assess technical, financial and strategic capabilities of internal and external tools and technologies in conjuction with other members of the data management office
  • Continue to act as a feedback mechanism to client requirements and market demands
  • Support the adoption of data capabilities across clients
  • Demonstrate strong financial market background to help identify the right mix of technology to each segment to extract maximum value

OUTCOMES EXPECTED FROM ROLE AND TEAM

  • Adoption of Digital tools and capabilities across RBC IS clients measured by adoption and scale rate
  • A strong understanding of client needs and helping to shape that into our digital roadmap
  • Continually challenge status quo to see if we can do it “better cheaper faster” with tools across the organization
  • Contribute to defining and building product data services across our product range
  • Contribute to the prioritization of Data delivery services
  • Provide clear action oriented information back into the business and to our executives demonstrating progress against RBC IS strategic initiatives and goals and the impact to their business
  • Client Engagement – 50% (proportions will fluctuate)
  • Stakeholder engagement – 50% (proportions will fluctuate)

Must Have:

  • Background in Data Management 
  • Over 5 years of business and IT experience in securities services, data innovation, client engagement management and design
  • Degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Science or Engineering
  • Confidence to engage with and challenge our clients
  • Ability to see the big picture and simplify complex topics
  • Experience with market relating to data tools and technologies
  • Experience driving large stakeholder engagement and gaining alignment across difficult conversations
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task effectively
  • Self-starter with ability to adapt and contribute a dynamic work environment and varied responsibilities. 

Nice to have:

  • CDMP certification
