Raise is currently hiring a Energy Management Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable..

Description

The Project Manager, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is responsible for successfully planning and executing low- to medium-risk business process change projects and customer-facing initiatives safely, with quality, within budget, and on time. In this role, you will apply core project management principles to lead DER-focused projects—such as rooftop solar, net metering, battery storage, and customer self-generation. You will collaborate across internal teams, vendors, and external customers to build customer-focused solutions that advance the organizations clean energy goals.

Responsibilities

  • Project Execution & Leadership
  • Manage assigned business process change projects through the full project lifecycle: planning, initiation, implementation, evaluation, and closeout.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project plans, risk management plans, action logs, activity schedules, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and contingency plans.
  • Deliver projects safely, within scope, on schedule, and on budget while managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Stakeholder Management & Customer Focus
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and customers.
  • Develop customer-focused solutions, targeted program strategies, communication materials, and recruitment tactics to support program participation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot operational issues, provide clear guidance, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Governance, Compliance & Operations
  • Prepare standard project documentation, including status reports, executive updates, communication plans, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Complete key operational and administrative deliverables, such as Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), procurement activities, customer data request handling, and resource coordination.
  • Establish and implement consistent project policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of direct project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of the energy industry and utility landscape.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with proven presentation abilities for professional environments.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a track record of developing customer-focused solutions.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project).
  • Nice-to-Haves (Assets)
  • Direct experience with Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), including solar-related initiatives (rooftop solar, net metering, self-generation), solar-plus-storage, and grid-connected distributed generation.
  • Experience with new product/program development and applying emerging energy technologies to core business objectives.
  • Familiarity with operations, systems, and internal processes—including Passport, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), procurement protocols, customer data governance, and Customer Energy Management (CEM) operations.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Designation: Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation. (nice to have/ asset)

             

Additional Information

Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.

Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
