  • Pay Rate: $34.21 – $40.00/hour (on W2)
  • Contract Length: 24 months
  • Location: Channahon, IL 60410
  • Schedule
    • Rotating 12-hour swing shift schedule.
    • Includes day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
    • Example rotation:
    • Mon/Tue: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Wed/Thu: Off
    • Fri/Sat/Sun: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
    • Mon/Tue: Off
    • Wed/Thu: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Fri/Sat/Sun: Off
    • Rotation pattern repeats thereafter.

Overview

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing and processing environment. This role is responsible for performing routine and non-routine laboratory testing on product and in-process samples, ensuring compliance with quality standards and supporting plant operations. The ideal candidate has a technical background in Chemical, Process, or Technical Engineering, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work a rotating 12-hour swing shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory analyses and wet chemistry testing on product and in-process samples.
  • Support laboratory supervisors and chemists in quality assurance and quality control initiatives.
  • Prepare, handle, and process samples to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
  • Generate, record, and maintain accurate laboratory data and documentation in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare chemical stock solutions, reagents, and testing standards as required.
  • Monitor product quality and assist in identifying and resolving quality-related issues.
  • Ensure laboratory activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within laboratory and plant operations.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, laboratory personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure production quality objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • Polytechnic degree, diploma, or equivalent technical education in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Technical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with standard software applications and laboratory systems.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, or quality control environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes, laboratory testing methods, and analytical instrumentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain detailed records.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour swing shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
