Location: Calgary, Alberta

Raise is currently hiring a Contracts Advisor on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a globally competitive integrated energy company that extracts, produces and provides energy from a mix of sources, ranging from oil sands to renewable fuels.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable..

Description

The Contracts Advisor In this role, will act as a commercial subject matter expert, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of high-value contracts and building strong alignment between internal stakeholders and external suppliers.  Your primary focus will be on driving cost optimization, mitigating commercial risks, executing robust sourcing events, and ensuring operational efficiencies that support 's strategic business goals.  

 

Responsibilities

Support development of project specific SCM execution plans including formulation of sourcing strategies, commercial strategies, procurement plan and contracting plan through the various D&MP stages of the Project

Build relationships with the project execution team, identifying project priorities so as to provide effective SCM support for successful project execution.

Coordinate the negotiation, execution and administration of complex high value contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and  standards while mitigating risks and maximizing value opportunity for the organization

Coordinate the development of Scopes of Work, facilitating issuance of clear, functional Contracts, Sub-agreements or Change Orders through change management.

Plan, organize and lead progress meetings for assigned contracts and scopes. Lead with confidence and clarity, ensuring objectives are met, and action items are captured.

Liaise with and facilitate discussions amongst various project stakeholder/ integrated team members for effective performance of SCM activities.    

Liaise with other functional groups e.g., Category Management, Commercial, Legal, EH&S, Finance, etc., for appropriate expertise/support and to ensure best practice and alignment.

Ensure appropriate contractors pre-qualification, create, implement and administer supply, contracts and service agreements to completion and close out

Implement and maintain tracking systems and ensure signing authorities are adhered to for commitments

 

Qualifications

5  or more years of experience in a contracts administration role with experience in Capital or Business Unit Projects

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products specifically Excel and with SAP.

Experience with OEMS is considered an asset.

Proficiency with Supply Chain Projects Procedures and Work Practices

Ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines

Professional level of knowledge related to SCM Practices and processes, including the contract lifecycle, from RFP through to Close-out.

Demonstrated expertise in contract management, contract and procurement law

Strong writing and verbal communication skills, as well as a collaborative approach when working with both internal and external stakeholders

 

Education and Certifications

Post-secondary education in business or supply chain management preferred
