Overview
Our client s seeking a Construction Superintendent (Intermediate) to support its Advanced Graphite Solutions (EMAGS) facility in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The role centers on a first of its kind pilot plant that will convert coke sourced from client's Baytown, Baton Rouge, and Beaumont facilities into battery anode graphite. Working alongside the site's construction and safety lead, the Construction Superintendent will help steward field installation of newly arriving equipment from Germany, mentor local contractors who are new to oil and gas construction standards.
Responsibilities

- Review incoming equipment assembly and wiring manuals and verify contractor work against them, catching wiring or connection errors before they can damage installed equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors on equipment delivery, material orders, and construction schedules.
- Attend daily contractor safety meetings and reinforce client’s safety standards, including fall protection, tie off procedures, and proper use of harnesses and fire-retardant clothing.
- Mentor and coach local construction contractors unfamiliar with oil and gas industry practices, translating company’s standards into practical, on-site guidance.
- Backfill site safety and construction oversight duties when the primary site safety lead is offsite for training or other commitments.
- Partner with engineering counterparts in Houston and Germany on layout and installation questions as the pilot plant design continues to evolve during construction.
- Support inspections, equipment hookup, and commissioning and startup activities as the pilot plant comes online.

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to read and apply detailed equipment assembly and wiring documentation.
- Comfort working in a heavy industrial, dusty environment; this is a graphite processing facility where daily exposure to fine graphite dust is expected.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with patience for training contractors who are new to oil and gas safety standards.
- Ability to work extended shift schedules, currently 5x10s transitioning toward 6x10s with occasional 7x10s during commissioning and startup.

- Available to start on site in Hopkinsville, Kentucky ideally by mid-August
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior company or oil and gas construction experience, particularly in the Permian Basin, U.S. Gulf Coast, or similar ventures.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, materials processing, or similar non-oil-and-gas facility construction.
