Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in supporting our clients enterprise-wide migration to Jira. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with business and technology teams to assess current processes, document requirements, facilitate migration planning, and drive successful adoption across the organization. You will dive deeply into existing team practices, interview stakeholders, analyze current-state workflows, and coach teams through the transition. This is not a purely coordination role; the ideal candidate is capable of operating effectively at both strategic and detailed execution levels.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Business Analysis & Discovery
  • Conduct comprehensive interviews and workshops with technology and business teams to understand current processes, project delivery practices, workflows, and reporting requirements.
  • Document detailed current-state and future-state processes.
  • Analyze existing Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, and project management practices to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for standardization.
  • 2. Jira Migration Planning & Execution
  • Support migration activities from existing legacy platforms into Jira.
  • Document and validate workflow mappings, status mappings, issue type mappings, and field mappings.
  • Assist teams in preparing backlog, sprint, epic, story, defect, and reporting data for a seamless migration.
  • Support data validation, testing, and migration readiness activities.
  • Coordinate directly with Jira administrators and platform owners to ensure migration requirements are fully understood and executed.
  • 3. Stakeholder Engagement & Coaching
  • Engage directly with teams to understand operational needs and migration impacts.
  • Coach teams on Jira best practices and new ways of working.
  • Facilitate workshops to drive alignment on standards, taxonomy, workflows, and governance.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across technology, delivery, product, and business teams.
  • Provide ongoing support during the transition and adoption periods.
  • 4. Process Improvement & Governance
  • Recommend targeted improvements to project delivery processes and Jira configuration standards.
  • Support the development of governance models, templates, reporting standards, and operational procedures.
  • Assist with the rollout of standardized Jira workflows, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
  • 5. Testing & Adoption
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities related to migrated data and workflows.
  • Support the validation of migrated records, epics, stories, defects, attachments, and reporting.
  • Develop robust supporting documentation, training materials, and user guides.
  • Assist with change management and organization-wide adoption activities.          

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Business Analysis experience working on large-scale technology transformation programs.
  • Migration Background: Demonstrated experience leading platform, tool, or enterprise application migration initiatives.
  • Process Skills: Strong business process analysis and process mapping capabilities.
  • Facilitation: Proven experience facilitating interactive workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Agile Acumen: Extensive experience working alongside Agile delivery teams.
  • Documentation Mastery: Excellent documentation skills, including:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Process flow diagrams
  • User stories
  • Functional requirements
  • Data mapping documentation
  • UAT plans and test cases
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Direct Jira implementation or enterprise migration experience.
  • Hands-on experience executing Azure DevOps (ADO) to Jira migrations.
  • Experience configuring or administering Jira projects, workflows, dashboards, and reporting views.
  • Working knowledge of the broader Atlassian ecosystem (Jira Software, Jira Plans, Confluence, and Xray).

  • Success Measures
  • Successful and seamless migration of teams and work artifacts into Jira.
  • High stakeholder satisfaction scores and strong organization-wide adoption rates.
  • Accurate workflow and data migration execution with minimal rework.
  • Standardized Jira practices and taxonomy established consistently across all participating teams.
  • Measurably improved project visibility, reporting capabilities, and governance post-migration.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Post secondary education in related field (Computer Science, Business Administration, or Management Information Systems) nice to have
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA (or equivalent).
